The elements that are seen in his works are meant to question art as a principle, using philosophies like Wabi-sabi and Expressionism. The innovation of his pieces imply the fusion of modern and ancient aesthetics. He uses a multitude of mediums, from installation, film, video and found objects. The ideology behind his works are based on an influence of Japanese philosophy which includes ancient ideals such as Shinto, Buddhism and Shibui. The elements that have influenced his works consist of asymmetry, simplicity, balance, freedom and tranquility.
